Art installations. I work mainly on commissions for major corporate clients, however, I paint from the inspiration drawn from life.
I have works on show in Dubai, Los Angles, Washington DC, Paris and Rome. I work in many mediums but
prefer sculpting in
metal and wood. When I'm not chiselling or welding my next piece I can be found teaching, writing or filming.

Installation Art In Manchester

Car in the Garden
In the front garden (the thin strip to the side of the house) is a dip in the lawn. This is where all those Manchester United players' boots are buried!

In the early nineties I lived in Partington – a small suburb on the outskirts of Manchester – and it was here I made my first venture into installation art. From childhood I'd always dreamed of "planting" a car and when I grew up, that's what I did. I also loved the idea of rearranging furniture into positions which would ask questions and I did this with an old cooker I had by hanging it on an exterior wall as well as an "upside down room" in my house.

There was a huge amount of interest in my work from TV and radio stations and newspaperswere also interested in stories about me, so when I was contacted by a London agent I signed up and have not looked back since. These days I work solely on large commissions and the only thing I require (other than being paid) is that my name is not mentioned as the artist.

The reason for this goes back quite a number of years and I have an ongoing debate with a very good friend: that art is only seen as "good" when it is from an artist with a known name. Therefore, wherever my pieces lie, they don't carry my name but that of my alter ego. You may know me but you don't know "me" and I definitely prefer it that way.

Car in the Garden 2
The interest the car brought with it was quite phenomenal and it took me by surprise. It did make me laugh.
